...WINTRY WEATHER POSSIBLE FOR THE SOUTHWESTERN SOUTHERN TEXAS PANHANDLE AND THE NORTHERN SOUTH PLAINS LATE THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY... An upper level storm system will begin to affect the region today. A cold front will first push through the region this afternoon with a secondary push of colder air arriving overnight. Overnight a wintery mix will be possible across the southwestern South Texas Panhandle and the northern South Plains. The wintery mix is expected to last through early Friday morning. Snowfall amounts of less than half an inch are expected for much of the area but pockets of more than half an inch are possible. There remains considerable uncertainty with this system, so we simply advise monitoring the forecast over the next few days.
